Ramblings of a Twenty-Something.
Once Upon a Free Boat

Nate and I decided to take a random exploration trip to Donner Lake in the middle of our grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s and Raley’s.  As we were driving the north part of the lake, he noticed a free boat on the side of the road.

We turned around and had to get a better look.  There it was.  A free boat, indeed.

The free boat on the side of the road

I’ve always loved boats.  Maybe it’s because my dad was in the Navy and it reminds me of my childhood.  Perhaps it’s because it reminds me of traveling, the open ocean, and the world wanting to be discovered.  It might be my love of water, despite my clumsiness in it.  But I’ve always been fond of boats.  It’s a dream of mine to own one someday.

We attempted to put the boat in the bed of Nate’s truck.  Unfortunately, it was too large.  If we were to haul it, it would be a dangerous drive back to Reno.  So the boat was left for other owners.

This was a sure sign of my boat affinity.  I will get to be afloat with it one day, just not so soon… but someday…

If it came so easily to us then, I’m sure it will be in the future.  :)
